Job Description

Our client is looking for a SAP Project Manager for an hybrid mandate.

Start date: April 15, 2024

End date: October 29, 2024

Working Model This is a hybrid working model with a minimum of two (2) days per week on-site in downtown Halifax.

Project Scope and Timeframes

The PMO Project Manager is intermediate experienced and ideally would have a minimum of 5 years’ experience delivering complex enterprise scale programs in both the public and private sectors. The PMO Project Manager will work within the Pillar Lead to deliver standardization and industry leading practice approaches for project implementation.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

In support of this Project, the overall responsibilities of the PMO Project Manager are as follows:



Contributes to definition of the overall project management processes, standards, and rules of engagement for all Pillars and ensuring compliance with same. 
Ensure project activities are executed according to the approved plans. 
Ensure that project scope and timeline are within the approved guidelines. 
Ensure all required management deliverables are produced (e.g., program plan, work plan, management reviews, requests for changes and outstanding issues) and seek approval when necessary. 
Manage project issues and risks and escalate as necessary. 
Ensure deliverables are produced, approved, and accepted in accordance with organizational standards. 
Communicate with and support the Pillars in applying defined project management processes and a project delivery framework. 
Support, guide, coach and assist team members as required. 
Advocates for the project. 


Candidate Qualifications

The PMO Pillar Lead will have the following qualifications: 



Minimum of five (5) years’ experience managing complex projects/programs. 
Architecting complex project structures: developing project strategies, establishing governance, program planning, scheduling, and critical path management. 
Project delivery methodologies: experience adapting project delivery methodologies to “rightsized” delivery approach with the scope, scale, and complexity of the project. 
Experience in managing large projects (preferably ERP solutions) in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. 


Desired Qualifications

The Consultant ideally should fulfill the following desirable qualifications: 



PMP certification is an asset. 
Adoption of various cloud-based solutions (e.g., SAAS, PAAS). 
SAP project implementation: experience leading and implementing business solutions utilizing SAP. 
Prior experience in organizational change management, with the Province of Nova Scotia. 
Experience in managing projects/programs with a public sector organization. 


Must have Work Authorization for Canada.
