Position: Junior Project Manager

Tenure: Full-time, up to 6 months

Compensation: Negotiable, Competitive 

Location: Toronto, ON

Position Overview:

Our client, one of the world’s top ranked universities, is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience with managing multiple projects with a total budget exceeding $5 million, will be skilled in implementing Agile Projects, and will have experience working in Higher Education or similar industries.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Comply with the SDLC, HDLC, and PMLC, including the development of project documentation of all system requirements and estimates of scope and cost
  • Ensure that project gating and governance controls are adhered to, so that the project can maintain all performance and quality standards based on the SDLC methodology
  • Manage project scope, budget, schedule, changes, risks, and quality
  • Shape project deliverables and issue project documentation based on the project sponsor’s expectations
  • Be committed to continually working to increase client satisfaction and deepen client relationships
  • Continuously monitor any potential risks on the horizon and work to preemptively mitigate them or shape contingency plans if they cannot be mitigated
  • Ensure all team members are on track to meet the project budget and project timeline
  • Develop plans for the project, identify the required resources, delegate responsibilities, project schedule, resource plans, and estimates
  • Effectively engage with and communicate project updates, including project status, roadblocks, and milestones, to project stakeholders in order to ensure continued buy in and success
Must Haves:

  • 2-3+ years of Project Management, ideally within an educational institution
  • Possession of PMP or PRINCE2 certification
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a with multiple medium to large technical projects at once
