Task description and requirements

As a network/system administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of computer systems and the network while ensuring their security and performance. Your role will be diverse and stimulating. We are looking for a proactive individual who appreciates methodology and thorough work and is stimulated by solving complex problems.

The person will be required to travel 4 days a week to two separate sites, one being in Cornwall and another approximately an hour away.

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensure the proper functioning of systems and the network while ensuring security.
  • Maintain and administer servers, including installations, updates, and monitoring.
  • Perform integration, installation, and configuration of network equipment and applications.
  • Ensure maintenance and wiring of cabinets as needed, as well as management and documentation of network diagrams.
  • Implement, manage, maintain, and monitor local and wireless networks.
  • Handle request processing, resolve incidents, and occasional problems.
Profile:

  • Between 2 and 5 years of experience as a System/Network Administrator.
  • Bilingualism (English and French).
  • Mastery of virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V, server roles (AD, DNS, DHCP, etc.), operating system and server security, etc.
  • Mastery of network protocols, diagnostic tools, and network monitoring.
  • Skills in cabinet wiring, network diagram, troubleshooting, and Wi-Fi management.
  • Project management skills (an asset).
  • Own a car and have a valid driver's license.
  • Autonomy, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
