Role Overview:

Reporting to the Sales and Logistics Manager, the Supply Chain Coordinator will assist in managing the Lafarge in-house carrier within Atlantic Canada, ensuring efficient transportation operations, data analysis, and customer service. The role includes traveling to industry events, customer locations, and Lafarge operations in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety: Ensure a safe work environment, complying with Transport Canada and Lafarge safety standards.
  • Data Management: Analyze market trends, maintain data dashboards, and recommend improvements.
  • Customer Service: Manage freight relationships, balancing cost and service to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Performance Management: Develop and report key performance indicators, track and optimize processes.
  • Fleet Management: Calibrate fleet size, monitor expenditures, and contribute to budgeting.
  • Human Resources: Promote a performance culture, support union negotiations, and assist with fleet supervision.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting: Work with teams to develop cost forecasts and monitor exceptions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Sales, Operations, Logistics, Distribution, or Business Management.
  • Familiarity with road transportation, DoT regulations, and Atlantic Canada geography.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Strong customer service, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Dimensions:

  • Operations in Brookfield, NS and Havelock, NB.
  • Workforce of 50 employees, including two unions.
  • Managing over 30 on-road tractors and delivering 200k metric tonnes of bulk product across 2.4 million KMs in the Atlantic provinces.

Relationships:

  • Support Logistics and Sales Manager, Fleet Supervisor, Shipping Supervisor, and CVC Manager.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Freight Analysts.
  • Engage with customers and manage vendor relationships.
