Sommaire professionel

Lexi La Rue Bellamy is a science fantasy author and storyteller from Regina, SK, Canada. Passionate about writing since childhood, she brings a unique perspective shaped by a life lived fully: music production, visual arts, yoga, skateboarding, and a passionate commitment to her community. Her path to publishing has not been without adversity. Following an unjust termination after disclosing her gender identity and a violent attack within the same year that left lasting effects on her dominant writing hand, Lexi continued writing through it, because the story demanded to be told. During that same period she opened her home to individuals experiencing homelessness, a reflection of her longstanding advocacy for vulnerable and marginalized communities. When the legal system came knocking in multiple directions at once, she taught herself to fight back, self-representing across provincial, federal and appellate courts in matters ranging from real estate, evictions to Judicial Case Conference family law custody hearings, while assisting others in her community who reached out for guidance in navigating those same proceedings, and at times successfully advocating unilaterally for those already in custody in matters of probationary release for those who had no one to call. That tumultuous period was documented in the Regina Leader-Post, which covered both her community advocacy and the court proceedings that followed, in which a judge notably acknowledged that she had herself called police multiple times and been a victim of crimes on her own property. The Nullus Compendium is her debut novel, a sprawling science fantasy epic set on the alien moon-world of Elios. She is currently at work on Volume 1. Lexi, identifying as transgender, believes in embracing individuality, defending human rights, and celebrating the full spectrum of human experience. All of that lives in her writing.
