Dear sir/madam My name is Pauline, I am a Public Relations graduate from Seneca College. I currently work at GabrielPR for Public Relations and recently completed a contract with The Ontario Caregiver Organization as their Communications Specialist. Despite my growth in both roles, my passion lies in creativity and writing. I’m excited to start my journey in finding a new home! At The OCO I am in charge of writing blogs, managing content calendars, analyzing analytics, and keeping the user experience up to date. My efforts connected the organizations resources to the users, directly impacting the community in a positive way. At GabrielPR I am in charge of writing articles and conducting interviews for the Black Fashion and Beauty Gala Awards (BFBG). Meanwhile, at Queens Elite Academy I am in charge of generating leads, creating content and maintaining their social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Youtube). At GabrielPR, my most challenging article to write was about Sephora and their goals for activism and inclusivity. I was able to get in touch with their Global Public Relations Team, only to deny my questions. Based on this, I wrote an article about the balance between the corporate agenda and social activism. Social responsibility is part of my morale, which is why involvement with the BFBG Gala Awards is an honour. This is the very first Canadian Awards Ceremony for black creatives. Being part of the Public Relations team I wrote their press release, which was picked up by FASHION Canada. As a result, they followed up with an article in their magazine featuring the event. Additionally, at Queens Elite Academy I find fulfillment in creating access for students to learn by marketing their tutoring program. Here I am able to host webinars for students, parents, and academics. The most recent webinar was about the intersection of mental health and studying, I was able to collaborate with influencers and Mental Health Support Network Canada. Aside from my professional experience, I am also a content creator. I have an Instagram and Youtube under the name @cosmecvegan. I create makeup looks using only cruelty free and vegan products and post relatable life-chat videos. This is where my true passion lies because I believe in order to create a bigger social impact having a successful social platform is necessary. As a woman and person of colour my goal is to be part of the movement to change beauty standards and societies vision of diversity. I am Filipino and Spanish, however, growing up I was raised in a culturally Filipino home. My values and lived experiences inspire me to empower. With that being said this opportunity embodies the values, perspective, and direction that is vital to my growth and overall societal change. It is rare to find a position that can elevate both growth and passion. This is why I am confident that the combination of my skills, experience, and values are in line with your values and criteria for this Writer position. So far in my early career, I have experience in writing, marketing, and digital communications. Completing assignments has cultivated my ability to communicate, organize, and connect. These are skills I’ve enjoyed and will continue to craft with more time in the industry. I have spent 5+ years working in the public sphere, while taking on the rigorous course loads while never missing a deadline.
