Personal summary
It's nice to e-meet you! My name is Ricky, I'm an applied research scientist focusing on machine learning here in Toronto. After obtaining a PhD in Physics, I spent 5 years as a post-doc in Machine Learning before leaving the Academia. During which time I was able to publish in top journals and conferences in Machine Learning (ICLR) and Operations Research (Journal of Global Optimization). A lot of the work I performed most recently involves deep learning, such as Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision. During my post-doc years the work was mostly classical ML. I have also analyzed various kinds of data, such as time series, image, text, and audio. Outside of my work projects, I also finished a side project where I calculated the win-rates of a 2 player Texas Hold'em game of all combination of hands. The code was implemented in Python / Numpy, it is fully vectorized and the whole computation took about 1 week on the CPU. Here's how I will be able to help you: 1. Solving a large variety of problems owing to my exposures to different STEM areas. 2. Getting results. I'm very dedicated and self motivated. It would be great to learn about the problem you are facing, maybe we can work something out for both of us. I look forward to hearing from you! Education: PHD in Physical Sciences
